About

The Laboratory for Translational Data Science (LabTDS) is a research team based at the University of São Paulo's Ribeirão Preto campus, Brazil. It has been certified by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) since 2021. Prof. Dr. Omero Poli-Neto and Prof. Dr. Daniel Tiezzi are the principal investigators and leaders of this research group. Both are affiliated with the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo, and serve as full advisors to the Graduate Program in Gynecology, awarded the highest rating by CAPES, the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education.

Focus

Our research primarily focuses on PELVIC PAIN and GYNAECOLOGICAL TUMOURS, emphasizing large-scale epidemiological, molecular, and genomic analyses of dysmenorrhoea, endometriosis, as well as breast and ovarian cancers. Overall, we aim to produce new scientific evidence that can inform clinical practice, healthcare, and public health policies.

Vision

Data science and artificial intelligence are emerging, promising fields for solving problems that impact humanity. Our group has ventured into this new, challenging, and fascinating domain, striving to deepen our understanding and, where possible, provide solutions to epidemiological, biological, and computational issues, particularly, though not exclusively, those concerning women’s health.

Projects

We're mainly looking into PELVIC PAIN & GYNECOLOGICAL TUMORS, diving deep into studying data about breast cancer, dysmenorrhoea, endometriosis, and ovarian cancer from different angles like epidemiology, molecules, and genes. But hey, we're not stopping there! Our goal is to find new science that could change how doctors treat patients, improve healthcare plans, and even influence public health rules.
